The U.S. Postal Service announced that they will be releasing a new Purple Heart stamp that will be made available at post offices this Friday.
According to an article published by Stars and Stripes, “The Purple Heart is given to servicemembers killed or wounded by enemy actions. The new stamp, a tribute to the sacrifices of servicemembers, features a purple border that matches the medal and its ribbon,ย according to the Postal Service.”
The new Purple Heart stamp will be classed as a โforeverโ stamp which means that it will always be equal in value to the current first-class mail one-ounce price. Other recent military-themed “forever” stamps includeย military working dogsย and theย battleship USS Missouri.
